The creditors of Eventis Mobile requested the law enforcement bodies to intervene and combat the illegal attacks on the company. In a news conference, representatives of Eventis Mobile said the national regulator ANRECTI and the ICT Ministry illegally intervene in the company’s ownership rights and these acts run counter to the Constitution of Moldova. The company’s representatives asked the embassies working in Moldova to monitor the observance of the law principles, IPN reports.
Jurist Andrei Iosip said that Eventis Mobile is the victim of the illegal and groundless refusal of the State Registration Chamber to register the contract for selling-purchasing property belonging to the debtor IM Eventis Mobile SRL, which owns Iulerom SRL. According to Andrei Iosip, it is doubtful why the institution does not want to register the contract. The refusal is determined by a letter sent by ICT Minister Pavel Filip. A decision of the Chisinau Court of Appeals says that this contract should be registered, but the court decision is not respected.
In September, the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) decided to withdraw the licensee of Eventis Mobile. “The fact that the decision of ANRCETI was confirmed by the court, even if the representatives of the Agency couldn’t specify the circumstances that led to the withdrawal of the license, is paradoxical and doubtful,” said the company’s representatives.
The lawyers of Eventis Mobile reminded that in the Doing Business 2012 rankings issued by the World Bank, last year the Moldovan authorities didn’t make progress in two important areas: protection of investors and honoring of contracts.
“This struggle without rules between the Moldovan officials and the creditors of Eventis Mobile shows again that the state control will not lead to the appearance of serious businesses in Moldova. We call on the heads of the diplomatic missions to monitor the situation and see how the authorities hamper the normal functioning of the company, which is ready to invest millions of euros in the country’s economy,” it is said in the statement of the creditors of Eventis Mobile, which was read at the news conference.
