COVID certificate issued in Moldova will equal European one

The COVID certificate issued by the Moldovan authorities will be recognized at the European level. According to the authorities, the digital certificate was tested successfully and is to be equaled now, Minister of Health Ala Nemerenco stated in a news conference, being quoted by IPN.

She said the European Commission yesterday announced that the COVID certificate that contains information not only about vaccination, but also about testing and recovery was tested successfully. This way, the Moldovan certificate becomes eligible in the European space and will equal any other certificate.

In another development, Ala Nemerenco noted that the national vaccine coverage with one dose is 25.8%, while with two doses is 24.8%. About 1.49 million vaccine doses have been administered to date.

According to the minister, they are now working on the integration of the certificates received by the Moldovans who got vaccinated in Romania into the national immunization system.

As to the Medicines and Medical Devices Agency’s go-ahead for the vaccination of children 12 years of age and over with the Comirnaty vaccine made by Pfizer-BioNTech, Ala Nemerenco said there is no impediment for the parents who want their children from this age category to be vaccinated. This way, they can go to any vaccination center where they will sign an agreement and the child will be later immunized.

As to the administration of the third COVID-19 vaccine dose, the minister said they are waiting for an expert official conclusion as to the launch date and the type of vaccine for completing the series.
