Another 1,587 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Moldova on September 29. Twenty-one infected persons succumbed to the disease. A comparable number of cases and deaths was receded at the end of this February, before the launch of the national immunization campaign, IPN reports

Accordion to the Ministry of Health, the number of COVID-19 cases confirmed yesterday was by 378 higher than a day earlier. The 21 persons who died were aged between 38 and 88. Among them is a man aged 55 from ATU Gagauzia who died at home.

As many as 9,629 tests were done on September 29, over 6,000 of these being rapid tests.

Of the 1,958 persons confirmed with COVID-19 who are now in hospitals, 154 are in a very serious state and 12 of them were put on a ventilator.

The national immunization campaign was launched on March 2. About 23% of Moldova’s population has been vaccinated by now against COVID-19 with two doses.
