The situation generated by COVID-19 is difficult primarily because it was managed inappropriately by the government, because the messages transmitted by the senior administration were incoherent and because those who should manage things correctly cause chaos, IPN quoted President-elect Maia Sandu as saying in a news conference.
“We know that we incur very large, economic costs. The state, the Government regrettably didn’t provide assistance to those who suffer because they stopped work. Regrettably, we do not see concrete actions to support the economic sector, especially the small and medium-sized businesses, on the part of the Government,” Maia Sandu stated.
She noted that she started to discuss the provision of assistance for containing the COVID-19 pandemic with the international partners. Hospital managers said that medicines, test kits and equipment are needed. She considers the Government should make sure that more people are tested and that those who are tested self-isolate so that the spread of the virus is slowed down.
Maia Sandu said she will do her best to bring aid to the citizens and for hospitals, but the management of the crisis remains the Government’s responsibility and the Government should start work seriously and work better than it worked until now in this sector.
