COVID-19 situation discussed by Aureliu Ciocoi with ambassador of China

The COVID-19 epidemic situation in Moldova and China was discussed by acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi and China’s Ambassador to Moldova Zhang Yinghong in a meeting on February 2. The two conferred on the impact of the restrictions imposed due to the pandemic on the economic and social life, IPN reports, quoting the Government’s press service.

Aureliu Ciocoi and Zhang Yinghong also discussed the measures that are to be taken to prevent the spread of SARS CoV-2.  The Moldovan official said the executive is making effort to attenuate the effects of the pandemic crisis and to support the institutions and healthcare workers and those who were confirmed with COVID-19. The Government follows strictly the recommendations of the WHO and other experts in the field.

Aureliu Ciocoi thanked the Chinese diplomat for the financial and information support offered in time, especially the past year, to help contain the COVID-19 pandemic.

Zhang Yinghong shared China’s experience in fighting the pandemic, reiterating the Chinese Government’s readiness to assist Moldova if need be.

According to the Ministry of Health, Moldova so far has got over 160,000 cases of COVID-19.
