The Balti Court of Appeals upheld the Edinet Court’s decision to sentence to life the young man who stabbed mortally an 18-year-old girl from Gordinesti village when she was going to take a school exam in June 2011, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to a communiqué from the Prosecutor General’s Office, after committing the murder the culprit fled the country. He was caught one month later when he tried to illegally cross the state border.
Last March, the Edinet Court gave the man life for deliberate murder and for attempt to illegally cross the state border. The man appealed the decision to the Balti Court of Appeals, but the conviction was upheld.
