Court orders 30 more days of house arrest for Igor Dodon

The ex-President of the Republic of Moldova Igor Dodon will stay under house arrest for 30 more days, as the Ciocana Court decided, IPN reports.

Igor Dodon said he will challenge the court’s decision in the Chisinau Appeals Court.

Igor Dodon is accused of passive corruption, acceptance of financing for the political party from a criminal organization, treason and unjust enrichment. The politician said this is a political case. Igor Dodon’s wife, who is accused of complicity in unjust enrichment, was banned from leaving the country. Galina Dodon’s brother is in remand detention.

A demonstration in support of Igor Dodon was staged in front of the Ciocana Court on June 21`.
