The Court of Auditors said that only its website was affected as a result of the cyber-attack, not yet its servers, information systems, email, internal communication systems, etc. The institution provided details following “erroneous interpretations and comments that not only distort the situation, but also proliferate lie and misinformation”, IPN reports.
The Court noted its official website is aimed at informing the public and contains general information about the institution and its activity, press releases, public announcements and other information of public interest. The Court’s meetings centering on the examination of audit reports are broadcast live through the website. The institution’s documents, such as audit reports and decisions, are kept not on the website, but in the original, with original documents, on paper, in its archives.
Immediately after the cyber-attack, the Court of Auditors informed the Security and Intelligence Service and launched discussions with the Prosecutor General’s Office, the first meeting with representatives of the Court and the law enforcement agencies that will investigate the case having been held.
