Court of Appeals suspends order to withdraw license of bailiff Chihai

The Chisinau Court of Appeals suspended the justice minister’s order to withdraw the license of the Ialoveni bailiff Anatolii Chihai, with which the Chisinau Electric Transport Company is in litigation. The Court’s president Ion Plesca has told Info-Prim Neo that Anatolii Chihai appealed to court after this order was made. The Court decided to suspend it until the case is being examined. Meanwhile, the bailiff can continue work. Justice Minister Oleg Efrim ordered withdrawing the bailiff’s license over abuse of power on January 27. He argued that Anatolii Chihai abused his position when he ordered sequestrating the property and financial resources of the Chisinau Electric Transport Company. On January 12, 2012, the bailiff levied 33,300 lei from the company’s accounts. The trolleybus company is in litigation with a Ukrainian firm, which claims debts of 13 milliohm lei from it. A Kiev court ordered rejecting the firm’s claims. The Prosecutor General’s Office announced recently that it started a legal case over this case.
