The Central Election Commission says the PCRM’s accusations over the refusal to allow representatives of the party to verify the electoral rolls used in the November 28 early legislative elections are groundless. It makes reference to a decision by the Chisinau Court of Appeals, which on December 15 rejected two applications concerning the verification of lists lodged by the Communists Party, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a communiqué, the Commission says that the Chisinau Court of Appeals decided to stop the civil lawsuit opened on the basis of the PCRM’s applications and not to allow a new suit on the same matter. The representatives of the PCRM Sergiu Sarbu and Grigore Petrenco in a press briefing the same day said that the vote recount failed as the process was frustrated by the electoral authorities.
