The Chisinau Court of Appeal adjourned on Tuesday, January 23, the examination of the complaint to sue the Chisinau Municipal Council and interim mayor filed by the employees at Euro TV Chisinau and Antena C stations. One of the plaintiffs did not sign the complaint, this was the reason set forth by Judge Mihai Ciugureanu. At the beginning of the court sitting, the judge stated that one of the plaintiffs did not sign the complaint. For this reason, he pronounced a final judgement due to which that particular complaint was declined, and then adjourned the court till February 14. Later, the plaintiff appeared in court and signed a renunciation statement from appealing the respective judgment in the Supreme Court of Justice. The court has fixed a new date for the case’s examination, January 31, at ten o’clock. The plaintiffs have qualified today’s judgment as a “deliberate delay” in examining the case. Maria Orlov, the plaintiffs’ lawyer sated that because of the delay, an “illegal” auction was held in the meantime, with its winners already announced. 38 employees working at the two stations requested to urgently suspend the procedure of selling the two institutions and annul the precursory normative documents; to cancel interim mayor’s orders regarding the appointment of new managers of the TV channel and radio station; to oblige CMC and interim mayor to re-establish the proper functioning conditions of the institutions; to oblige CMC and interim mayor to pay damages amounting to MLD 100 thousand for each claimant. The plaintiffs told earlier a news conference that they would use the pecuniary remedies for investing in the two institutions.
