Court of Appeals adjourns case filed by Chisinau mayor
The Chisinau Court of Appeals postponed the suit filed by general mayor Dorin Chirtoaca for August 6. He wants the decisions on ousting Mihai Ghimpu and on appointing Eduard Musuc in the position of president of the Municipal Council canceled, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from the Public Relations unit of the City Hall.
According to its press release, the Chisinau Court of Appeals started to consider the case on July 28, hearing the sides. The court decided to adjourn the consideration of the suit. At the beginning of the session, the court read out a notification written by Eduard Musuc asking to adjourn the examination of the case. On the other hand, the Council's representative in the trial, bore witness and recognized the plaintiff's claims.
The general mayor's representative submitted a notification demanding to suspend the execution of the questioned decisions till announcing the ultimate verdict. However, the court refused to decide as to this notification, without presenting a reasonable argument, the communique reads.
Eduard Musuc was elected as the CMC's president on June 6 with the vote of the councilors of PCRM, PPCD, PSD, PCUM and “Ravnopravie”. The same councilors voted to oust Mihai Ghimpu. On June 20, the CMC's secretary signed the two decisions and they entered force.
