Court of Appeal maintained the house arrest decision for MP Marina Tauber

The Court of Appeal maintained the 30-day house arrest measure for MP Marina Tauber, rendered by Chișinău Court, Ciocana headquarters. The information was confirmed for IPN by Cătălina Bogonos, spokesperson for the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office.

"The examination by the Court of Appeal of the request concerning the arrest of MP Reghina Apostolova submitted by the prosecutors has been adjourned for October 1, at 1:00 pm", stated Cătălina Bogonos.

The adjournment occurred while the examination of the request for the preventive arrest of Marina Tauber was being delayed. "The next date when it was possible to examine the request concerning Reghina Apostolova was October 1," stated Catalina Bogonos.

MPs Marina Tauber and Reghina Apostolova, whose immunity was lifted by the Parliament on September 16, were detained on the same day. The Prosecutor General's Office notes that the detention comes as a result of "their attempt to avoid criminal prosecution". The two are being investigated for complicity in the bank fraud.
