Court extends arrest warrant for PL member accused of traffic of influence
The Buiucani district court Monday extended the warrant for the arrest of Reli Sadovici – one of the suspects arrested last week for traffic of influence - for another 25 days, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The suspect’s lawyer Svetlana Olari said the decision will be appealed to a higher court.
Reli Sadovici, who is a member of the Liberal Party (PL) and was on the list of Liberal candidates in this summer’s local elections, runs the risk of being excluded from the party. The party’s leader Mihai Ghimpu informed about this in a news conference on Monday.
“Unfortunately, the PL members include such persons as well. I heard about his actions and told him to stop. I did not have evidence and could not lay blame on him. Now he will be excluded from the party and will have to solve all his problems himself,” said the Liberal leader.
Reli Sadovici and one more person whose name was not made public are accused of promising an economic entity to influence officials of Chisinau City Hall divisions to facilitate the sale of two plots of land in the capital city to it in exchange for US$184,000.
