A couple living in Chisinau municipality was sentenced to 19 and, respectively, 18 years in jail for killing their newborn baby, IPN reports.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, in December 2009, immediately after the woman gave birth at home, her partner killed the baby and buried him in the backyard of their house. Two years later, the couple killed another baby the same way.

When being questioned by the police, the culprits didn’t admit their blame. The sentence can be appealed to a higher court.
