A man aged 67 and his wife of 63 from Tareuca village of Rezina district were found carbonized in the annex of their house. The firefighters were alerted by the couple’s son on October 14. This returned home from abroad and found the annex destroyed by fire.

Contacted by IPN, press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service Diana Turcan said the firefighters established that the construction burned and the ceiling fell down. It is alleged that the fire stopped burning by itself. The carbonized bodies of the couple were found in the debris.

The circumstances of the fire are not yet known. An investigation is under way.
