The bodies of a 41-year-old man and that of his 42-year-old partner with signs of violent death were found in their own home in the village of Valea-Trestieni, Nisporeni district.
According to the General Police Inspectorate’s press officer, Mariana Bețivu, the bodies were discovered by their son. The 18-year-old youth came to look for them after his father failed several times to answer the phone.
The police initiated a criminal investigation. The preliminary version is that the man killed his partner before killing himself.
Maria Chircu, mayor of Valea-Trestieni village, told IPN that the woman was working in Israel and returned for her daughter's wedding, but had to go back to work this morning. People in the village say that the man was violent and that not once he threatened the woman that he would kill her.
The man had already gotten in trouble with the law. He served his sentence by doing a number of community service hours.
