Counterfeit alcohol to the value of half a million lei was discovered in two storehouses in Chisinau, where it was bottled for being sold at the urban markets and in Ukraine, IPN reports.
According to the General Police Inspectorate, near a storehouse the police also found a passenger bus running on the Chisinau – Ukraine route, which had specially built places for transporting alcoholic products over the border. The owner of the storehouse could not show documents authorizing him to carry out such an activity. The storehouses were sealed up. An examination will be performed to determine the quality of the alcoholic beverages.
Recently, officers of the National Anticorruption Center, anticorruption prosecutors and employees of the Border Police carried out searches in Ialoveni town and in a number of settlements in southern Moldova within an ethyl alcohol smuggling and corruption case.
