A councilor of Codru town of Chisinau municipality was arrested for 72 hours on suspicion of appropriation by abuse of trust and abuse of power. He faces eight to 15 years behind bars, IPN reports.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the councilor is suspected of committing the offense while managing two commercial organizations.

The functionary is also prosecuted in another two criminal cases started over arbitrariness and use of forgery.
