Municipal councillor Oleg Cernei demands adequate working conditions for the journalists that report on the activity of the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC). According to Cernei, the mass media representatives should be allotted a special bureau in the City Hall, from where they could quickly send information about the activity of the CMC to the editorial offices for which they work. To support his demands, the AMN councillor stressed that during the election campaign all the political organisations committed themselves to ensuring the transparent activity of the CMC and of the decisions taken. Cernei said that the former legislature of the CMC neglected the mass media. “It is necessary and natural that the journalists have a computer and a telephone at their disposal so as to have a direct connection with the editorial office,” the councillor said. At the same time, Oleg Cernei suggested approving regulations concerning the transparency of the decision making process in the CMC at the next meeting.
