The Council of the ruling alliance decided that the report by Kroll company, which conducted an investigation into the disappearance of money from three Moldovan banks, will be made public. Democratic MP Sergiu Sarbu confirmed for IPN that the decision was taken in the last meeting of the Council of the PLDM – PDM alliance.

The report contains the results of the prepliminary invetsigation by Kroll. Sergiu Sarbu said it wasn’t published until now not because the politicians wanted so, but because there is a contract between the National Bank and Kroll, providing that the report cannot be made public. The procedures to ask the company to give its consent to publishing the report were already launched.

Sergiu Sarbu could not say if the report will be published fully or some of the information will be kept secret so as not to affect other possible investigations into this case.

The prepliminary invetsigation by Kroll shows that a coordinated and hidden effort was made in 2012-2014 to take control of Banca de Economii, Banca Sociala and Unibank and afterward to hide the true nature of the transactions. The volume of released loans was maximized. As a result, the financial situation of the three banks worsened suddenly and there were recorded bad loans and debts of 13.3 billion lei.
