Council for Reforming PL to hold meeting

The Council for Reforming the Liberal Party (PL) will come together for a meeting in the afternoon of April15, MP Anatol Arhire, one of the members of the Council, has told IPN. “I was contacted by many persons and asked to comment on our exclusion from the PL. We will hold a meeting today and will make comments later,” said the lawmaker.

On April 12, seven Liberal MPs, two ministers, three deputy ministers and a number of heads of the PL’s local organizations, who constituted the Council for Reforming the Liberal Party, signed a statement, demanding that the PL should return to the negotiations on the designation of a new Premier. The signatories also asked convening the PL’s Extraordinary Congress so as to consider measures to democratize the party’s internal life and to promote Dorin Chirtoaca as leader of the PL.

The next day, the Liberal Party’s National Council excluded five of the seven lawmakers from the party and withdrew the party’s political support for ministers Gheorghe Salaru and Vitalie Marinuta, who weren’t members of the PL.
