The accumulation lake Costesti-Stanca, which regulates the water flow on the Prut River, has a reserve of almost 100 million cubic meters of water, director of Moldova’s Water Agency Marin Adam has told IPN. The director was contacted by IPN following a yellow code advisory for floods on the Prut issued by Romanian forecasters.
According to Marin Adam, the level of water in the Costesti-Stanca accumulation lake is now 89.09 meters and decreases by 2 centimeters every day.
The Romanian weather forecasters issued a yellow code advisory for floods on the Prut for July 31, starting at 9pm.
