The village Costești of Ialoveni district was chosen the “2019 Youth Capital”. The announcement was made by representatives of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research in the Gala of National Awards for Youth Sector Development, IPN reports.

According to the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, the village has a rich experience in implementing projects at the local level, including in partnership with youth organizations. Costești in 2019 will benefit from up to 1 million lei in financial support from the Ministry, depending on the quality and relevance of the planned youth activities.

The previous years, the status of “Youth Capital” was held by the following towns: Ungheni – 2011, Cahul – 2012, Ialoveni – 2013, Soroca – 2014, Sângerei – 2015, Ialoveni – 2016, Varnița –2017, and Cahul – in 2018.
