The hospital charges for medically uninsured persons are not expected to rise in 2015. According to the Catalogue of Common Tariffs for medical-sanitary services provided by public medical-sanitary institutions for money, the cost of a day of treatment in the hospital varies between 94 and 1,402 lei. The information was furnished to IPN by the Ministry of Health.

The cost of a day of treatment depends on the specialization of the medial institution, but does not include the cost of examinations. The cost of hospitalization is the lowest for persons suffering from mental illnesses, without acute psychotic disorders, who are hospitalized at the request of the relatives or the legal representative. A day of treatment in the reanimatology section with specific conditions is the dearest.

The costs for feeding the patients are different and are calculated by each institution separately, according to the existing norms.

According to the Ministry of Health, since it was approved in 2004, the Catalogue of Common Tariffs was modified two times, in 2007 and in 2011, the charges being raised by 9.3% and 7.2% respectively.
