Cost of a pint of beer as an argument to visit Chisinau

As summer approaches, the cost of a pint of beer in Chisinau may become the argument for all Europeans on the continent to visit our capital city, except for the residents of Minsk, where the cheapest beer in Europe is offered, according to lifestyle.bg.

According to the data of the German online travel comparison and booking site OMIO, in Chisinau one can serve a pint of beer at the price of €1.30, while the rankings are as follows:

10. Prague, the Czech Republic - €2.17
9. Sarajevo, Bosnia and Hercegovina - €2.04
8. Pristina, Kosovo - €2
7. Skopje, North Macedonia - €1.94
6. Sofia, Bulgaria - €1.94
5. Erevan, Armenia - €1.83
4. Tbilisi, Georgia - €1.69
3. Baku, Azerbaijan - €1.35
2. Chisinau, Moldova - €1.30
1. Minsk, Belarus - €1.05

According to OMIO, in Minsk a bottle of beer will cost only €1.05 or less than even a large Coca-Cola from McDonalds in the local branch.

At the other extreme, of destinations with the most expensive beer, there are Finland’s Helsinki, Norway’s Oslo and Iceland’s Reykjavik. After Brexit, many Britons complain about the high prices of everything, including alcohol.

Here’s are the rankings of the top 10 destinations with the most expensive beer in Europe:

10. Dublin, Ireland - €6.49
9. Stockholm, Sweden - €6.59
8. Bern, Switzerland - €6.71
7. Paris, France - €6.98
6. Copenhagen, Denmark - €7.36
5. Monaco - €7.48
4. London, the UK - €7.58
3. Helsinki, Finland - €7.98
2. Oslo, Norway - €9.49
1. Reykjavik, Iceland - €10.05

Given that Iceland is an island nation, it’s no surprise that beer is less available there, but also in many other places where one would not like a pint for €10, said the source.
