Cosovan joins Pasat's party

Ex-Interior minister Reserve Col. Ghenadie Cosovan has joined the Humanist Party, headed by Valeriu Pasat, former director of the Moldovan intelligence agency, Info-Prim Neo reports. “We the men in epaulets are centrist, we don't accept extremes, be it left of right. The party of Mr. Pasat is exactly this kind of political party”, Ghenadie Cosovan was quoted by Pasat's spokesperson Dumitru Ciubasenco as saying. Ghenadie Cosovan also says that Valeriu Pasat's project makes him closer to the Orthodox faith. “The intention to introduce the Fundamentals of Orthodoxy in schools is very welcome. I visited a number of foreign countries and I saw what happens when religion and faith are destroyed”, said the former interior minister. Ghenadie Cosovan believes the concepts of Christianity, their implementation in the social consciousness will contribute to the resolution of many problems in the law enforcement bodies, as well. “Torture will disappear, the irresponsible attitude of the police officers towards people will diminish. Everything stems from morality, from the human dimension, from responsibility. These are exactly the values promoted by the party of Valeriu Pasat”, added Cosovan. Valeriu Pasat was elected president of the Humanist Party on June 19, replacing Ion Mereuta, who became vice-president instead.
