The ferry crossing Cosauti-Yampol at the border with Ukraine has closed again, hours after being reopened, after the Nistru rose again to dangerous levels.

The Border Police is asking travelers to choose between the nearest border checkpoints Soroca-Tsekinovka or Otaci-Mohyliv (road crossing).

The Customs Service also reported about interruptions in the ferry schedule at Cosauti and urged the public to make an 8 km detour to Soroca in order to be able to cross the border.

According to the State Weather Service, heavy rainfall in the upper Nistru area has cause the water level to rise by about a meter.
