Due to technical issues with the cable ferry that provides transportation across the Nistru River, the border crossing Cosauti-Iampol has been temporarily closed, IPN reports.
The vessel is out use after its traction cable broke yesterday in the afternoon. The crew was able to bring the ferry and its passengers safely to shore. It is expected that the cable will be replaced today and the ferry will be most likely back in service starting tomorrow morning.
The cable ferry is administered by a private company.
Those planning to cross the border at Cosauti-Iampol are advised to take the nearest crossing point at Soroca-Tsekinovka.
