Corrupt judges will be removed from posts with more insistence, official

The process of cleaning up the judicial system of corrupt judges and judges with disciplinary deviations will continue with more insistence, president of the Supreme Court of Justice Mihai Poalelungi said in a meeting with the Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova Pirkka Tapiola, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué of the Court.

According to Mihai Poalelungi, a number of actions have been taken this year within the justice sector reform, especially as regards judicial organization and the status and social guarantees of judges. The technical implementation of the principle of random distribution of cases in all the courts of law was finished and this is another important result. All the courts record the hearings by audio equipment and publish the passed decisions on their websites.

Pirkka Tapiola spoke about the results of the Global Competitiveness Report for 2014-2015, saying the national legal system was placed at the end of the rankings owing to the multiple cases of money laundering through the national courts. The image of justice is affected by some of the judges.

The officials agreed to cooperate closer in the justice sector reform.
