Corporate parties on winter holidays in Chisinau banned

The staging of festive and corporate parties on the occasion of Christmas and New Year in all the public eating places, in institutions or at the workplace, regardless of the public or private legal status, is banned as of December 22 until January 15. It is also banned holding artistic and recreational events, dance and sports competitions and other kinds of events on the occasion of the winter holidays, as the Extraordinary Public Health Commission of the municipality of Chisinau decided on December 21, IPN reports.

The National Association of Restaurants and Leisure Facilities (MĂR) reacted, saying all these restrictions adopted under passions or as a justification do nothing but leave over 50,000 families that earn their living in the hospitality industry without incomes. The hospitality industry was seriously affected, but didn’t benefit from state support or compensations.

The local public administration maintained the state of public health emergency and reiterated the compulsoriness of wearing masks in all the open and closed public places all over the municipality of Chisinau, including on public transport. The mask must cover both the mouth and nose.
