Corjova arrestees detained at Dubasari militia station

The Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) said in a press release that the mayor and the councilman from Corjova village, who were arrested earlier today by the Transnistrian militia, are currently detained at the Dubasari district militia station, being deprived of their cell phones, Info-Prim Neo reports. The press release also says that the PGO and the Dubasari Police Commissariat are investigating the case. Valeriu Mitsu, the mayor of Corjova village, and Iurie Cotsifan, a local councilman, were arrested by the Transnistrian militia today at around 11:30 AM, after a religious service in remembrance of the Nistru war deaths. According to the PGO, around 40 to 50 uniformed men were involved in the intervention, including the Dubasari militia chief. Reportedly, the militia intervened because the act of displaying the Moldovan official flag at public events is considered illegal by the Tiraspol regime.
