Corina Fusu demanded that the Prosecutor General's Office (PG) provide explanations over the visits paid by prosecutors to the parliamentary commission for culture, education, youth and mass media that she heads. She made the request at Friday's sitting of the Parliament, but no representative of the PG came to the meeting, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to Corina Fusu, the prosecutors asked that she present the minutes of the commission's meeting of October 28, when there were examined six candidates for the post of member of the Supervisory Board of Teleradio-Moldova Company, who were selected by a contest announced by the Broadcasting Coordination Council (BCC) in December last year. “I found out later that on December 10, Communist MP Grigore Petrenko submitted a complaint to the PG, asking that it investigate the circumstances in which the meeting was held that day,” Corina Fusu said. “I revolted because as head of the commission, I was not informed about the existence of the complaint neither verbally nor in written form. The Prosecutor General's Office made no request to me. I can present all the required documents, but the procedures should be observed.” Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, Grigore Petrenko confirmed that he lodged a complaint with the PG last week, saying that Corina Fusu exceeded her authority. Petrenko said that Fusu sent a letter to the BCC president Gheorghe Gorincioi, informing him that a new contest should be held to fill the vacancies, but the commission did not examine this issue at the meeting. “I did not exceed my authority and the Court of Appeals confirmed this by rejecting the application filed by Corneliu Mihalache (a member of the BCC – e.n..), who claimed that the Council announced illegally a contest to fill the vacancies for Supervisory Board member,” Corina Fusu explained. The PG's press service told the Agency that they do not have the right to comment on this case.
