The border authorities of Romania and the Republic of Moldova will institute coordinated control at the Albiţa (Romania) - Leuşeni (Moldova) customs post as from April 15, 8am. There will be no control when leaving the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports, with reference to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

This way, the Moldovans and the foreigners will stay less in the customs post before entering the EU. “The Ministry I have the honor to manage will continue making effort to increase the quality of life through the internal affairs system by digitizing processes, ensuring increased accessibility on borders, safer communities, faster responses and a friendlier social environment,” said Minister of Internal Affairs Ana Revenco.

During the Easter holidays, the customs authorities of the Republic of Moldova and Romania will synchronize their activities by ensuring swift exchanges of operation, including with the local subdivisions of the other authorities with border control duties, will allocate separate lanes for redirecting and accelerating passenger traffic where necessary and will increase the number of customs functionaries at border offices and checkpoints.

On the Customs Service’s website, crossborder traffic participants can find the Online Traffic in Customs Posts division that will help them plan the optimal route as they can see in real time the number of units of transport at the most popular frontier posts.
