The best Moldovan athlete in 2017, taekwondo athlete Aaron Cook won silver at the Dutch Open. In the 80 kg weight class, he was beaten only by Norway’s Richard Andre Ordemann.
In the women’s competition, Ana Ciuchitu won bronze. The 18-year-old athlete scored three victories. In the semifinals, Ciuchitu lost to Russia’s Elena Evlamyeva 6-7.
“I’m very satisfied with the result, but I have yet a lot to work. I thank my coaches Vladislav Mazur and Roberto Bonetti,” Ana Ciuchitu stated for IPN.
