The National Theater “Mihai Eminescu” of Chisinau starts its 95th season with the Convention of National Theaters. The second event of the kind will take place on September 12-21, IPN reports.
There will be presented recent productions by invited theaters from Romania, by the host theater and national theaters of Moldova, with emphasis on quality, uniqueness, creativity and exemplary pronunciation of the Romanian language.
“There will be ten days full of theater: the Bessarabian public has the unique chance of seeing the most inspiring plays produced in Romania and the Republic of Moldova, of taking part in book launches, exhibitions and discussions on the theatrical phenomenon and other related events,” said the organizers.
Among the invited theaters are the National Theater “Radu Stanca” of Sibiu, the National Theater “Marin Sorescu” of Craiova, the National Theater “Vasile Alecsandri” of Iasi, the National Theater “Ion Luca Caragiale” of Bucharest, the National Theater of Cluj-Napoca, the National Theater “Satiricus I. L. Caragiale” of Chisinau, the National Theater “Vasile Alecsandri” of Balti and the National Theater “Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu” of Cahul.
The event includes a separate section, of public trials of theater-document plays, produced by the National Radiophonic Theater of Bucharest.
The Convention will include a conference entitled “Plays, stage managers, authors: critical perspectives on the contemporary theater” where there will be presented the anthological volumes “Chronicle of the National Theater “Mihai Eminescu” of Chisinau – a 95-year-old story”.
