The Chisinau-based National Theater “Mihai Eminescu” on September 12 – 21 stages the second convention of Romanian national theaters that is organized under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture of Moldova, the Ministry of Culture of Romania, the Chisinau City Hall, the Romanian Cultural Institute and the Romanian Cultural Institute “Mihai Eminescu” in Chisinau, IPN reports.

According to the Theater “Mihai Eminescu”, there will be presented recent productions of invited Romanian theaters, the host theater and national theaters of Moldova, with emphasis on quality, uniqueness, creativity and exemplary pronunciation.

Among the participants in the convention are the National Theater “Radu Stanca” of Sibiu with the plays “Lesson, “Antisocial”, “Marie Marie”; the National Theater “Marin Sorescu” of Craiova with the plays “Religion Teacher”, “The Common Tern”, “Occident Express”, and the National Theater “Vasile Alecsandri” of Iasi with the plays “The Café” and “Zeus of Slaughter”.

The event includes a conference entitled “Plays, stage managers, authors: critical perspectives on the contemporary theater” that is organized by the National Section Moldova of AICT-IATC with the participation of the Institute of Cultural Heritage of the Academy of Sciences, the Writers’ Union, the National Theater Union, etc. Within the conference, there will be launched the anthological volume “Chronic of the National Theater of Chisinau in documents and images. 1921-2016”.

A news conference centering on the convention of national theaters will be given at 12 noon on September 12.
