Experts assess in a different way the Government’s decision to assume political responsibility before Parliament for the adoption of a package of seven bills. The issue was discussed in the program “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel and in the program “Politics” on TV7 channel, IPN reports.

In the program “Politics”, political analyst Alexei Tulbure said that Prime Minister Iurie Leanca’s decision is close to the limit of constitutionality. “The given situation was created by the oligarchs Filat and Plahotniuc. They decide the agenda of the legislature and the MPs are their hostage. The fact that the seven bills appeared in the Official Gazette only one hour after the Government’s decision to assume responsibility for them was announced in Parliament arouses questions. They ignored the Constitution, the democratic processes,” stated Tulbure.

Journalist Ion Terguta considers the Government’s gesture is both populist and opportune. “The farmers will receive money and the country will be ready for winter. If Russia halts the supply of gas, the reserves of crude oil will save the country in winter and the people will be satisfied. I think that Iurie Leanca made a legal political gesture and will be thus appreciated by the voters for this,” he said.

The permanent invitee to the program “Politics”, political analyst Igor Botan noted that if the Government hadn’t assumed responsibility, the problems would have remained unsolved. “It’s a bad solution, but it’s the only one that can ensure stability until we go through the election period,” he said.

In the program “Fabrika”, constitutional law expert Nicolae Osmochescu stated that the Government’s acts are constitutional. “It is an extraordinary situation, not an ordinary one. Parliament was unable to adopt this package on time, while the Constitution allows the Government to assume the adoption of laws on its own responsibility,” he said.

In the same program, former Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Valeriu Cosarciuc said the Government’s acts were necessary and are within the law. “The farmers will benefit from these laws. I hope the budget will be amended and money will be offered for subsidies also, not only for compensations,” he stated.

Journalist Constantin Olteanu criticized the legislature, accusing it of creating conditions for the Government to take control over these laws. “The MPs were not sure that they will have the necessary number of votes for adopting these laws. I think they were afraid to risk and thus chose this method,” he said.
