Contracts for electric power supply valid for two more days
Gas Natural Fenosa and Energocom continue to negotiate new contracts for the supply of electricity with the Cuchurgan Power Plant and the Ukrainian supplier. The current contacts expire on April 1, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Deputy Minister of Economy Ilarion Popa said thee are two more days of negotiations during which they hope to reach a compromise on the supply conditions and purchase price of power.
Moldova now buys electric power for 6.1 cents per kilowatt/hour. Both the Cuchurgan Power Plant and the Ukrainian supplier want to increase the tariff by 20%. Ilarion Popa said a certain quantity of power may be purchased from Romania.
Earlier, Prime Minister Vlad Filat said that up to 30% of Moldova’s power consumption may be covered by supplies from Romania.
