Contract for building Ungheni-Iasi gas pipeline signed

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar signed the contract for the construction of 11 km of the Ungheni-Iasi gas pipeline on Moldova’ territory and a gas metering station with the winner of the tender contest. Recently, the assessment commission chose as winner the Romanian consortium JV Habau Pipeline Systems SRL (founded by Habau Hoch-und Tiefbaugesellschaft m.b.H, Austria), Inspet SA and IPM-Partners Romania SRL, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué from the Ministry of Economy, of the three relevant offers examined by the assessment commission, the price offer presented by the winning consortium was the lowest - €6.65 million.

The bidder executed numerous projects to build gas mains with the diameter of 500-1,400 mm and natural gas compressing stations as well as projects to build gas pipes under rivers.

The Ministry of Economy, together with the wining consortium, started to organize the event to launch the construction works, which will take place on August 27. The event will involve Moldovan government officials, European Commissioner for Energy Gunther Oettinger, Romanian Premier Victor Ponta and other Moldovan and Romanian officials.
