Contraband chicken legs found in two cars

Nearly a tonne and a half of contraband chicken legs were found this morning in two cars with Transnistrian number plates. Adrian Jovmir, spokesperson for the General Police Commissariat, has told Info-Prim Neo that traffic officers stopped an Audi-100 car and a van for a routine inspection to find 1,400 frozen chicken legs with no accompanying documents. The 38-year-old driver of the van said he loaded 900 kilograms of chicken legs in Sangera town and was bound for Hancesti. The 26-year-old driver of the Audi said he smuggled 500 kilograms of chicken legs from Bender following roundabout routes. This year the Chisinau Traffic Police registered 114 cases of illicit traffic of goods.
