Continuity and unity are crucial for EU-Moldova relations

Acting President Mihai Ghimpu, after the meeting with the President of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzec, said they discussed what the former Alliance for European Integration did and what the future government collation should do for a European future, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The President of the European Parliament said that the EU will continue to support us if we go on with the reforms. Moldova needs two alliances – the Alliance for European Integration and the European Union. In the name of these two alliances, I think we will cooperate until we also become members of the European family,” said Mihai Ghimpu. Jerzy Buzek stated that stability, continuity and unity are crucial for the EU-Moldova relations. “These are very important things for Moldova's future and I'm sure that the bilateral cooperation between Moldova and the European Union will be fruitful,” he said. The European official also said that Moldova is a model country for the six states covered by the Eastern Partnership. Jerzy Buzek came to Chisinau at the invitation of Prime Minister Vlad Filat. He had meetings with representatives of the political parties that entered Parliament after the November 28 elections.
