Companies holding trademarks that were officially registered in Moldova, including those that work in a certain region of the country and carry out promotion activities exclusively in that area, can apply to take part in the “Trademark of 2013” Contest by November 15, head of the Chamber of Trade and Industry’s Fairs and Exhibitions Division Marina Petrova has told IPN.

The applications can be submitted to the Chamber of Trade and Industry starting with November 4. The winning trademarks will be selected at a contest. The winners have the right to use the symbols of the Trademark of the Year for advertising purposes, on goods and labels.

Besides the traditional nominations – “Debut of the Year”, “Reputation and Confidence”, and “Export” – the 2013 edition includes a new nomination – “Regional Brand” that is intended for companies that take steps to promote the trademark only in the area where they work.

The contest “Trademark of 2013” has been held since 2003.
