The municipality of Chisinau may start the contest for constructing the underground parking garage in the Great National Assembly Square without making a feasibility study. The proposal was submitted by Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca and will be examined in the next meeting of the Chisinau Municipal Council, Info-Prim Neo reports. In the February 18 meeting of Chisinau City Hall officials, deputy mayor Nistor Grozavu said that any construction needs a feasibility study that stipulates the most important technical elements, including the access ways, the height and the ventilation system. In this connection, he stated that the best entrance to the parking lot is from the territory that is state property. If an entrance is built outside the state property, a larger number of trees will have to be cut. Dorin Chirtoaca said the responsibility for dealing with the problems that appear, including the feasibility study, should be put on those who will want to take part in the contest.
