Contest for national symbols with designation of origin
Deputy Minister of Economy Octavian Calmic was appointed by a Government decision head of the national Commission for creating symbols associated to protected geographical indications, designations of origin and certified traditional specialties, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The Commission will include representatives from several ministries, the State Agency for Intellectual Property, the National Agency for Protecting Competition and the Academy of Sciences.
The Commission will prepare and organize the contest for creating national symbols associated to certified traditional specialties and products with protected geographical indications or designations of origin.
The contest will be announced soon. Any Moldovan citizen or person with residence visa in Moldova, aged 18 or older, can participate in the contest.
There are three prizes for each of the three categories: certified traditional specialties, protected geographical indications and designations of origin. The first place prize is 5000 lei, the second 3000 lei and 2000 lei for the third place.
The prizes will be paid from the Government’s Reserve Fund.
