The General Division of Education, Youth and Sport of the Chisinau Municipal Council will stage a contest for brass bands in the capital city’s central park “Stephan the Great” on May 17, IPN reports.

The contest will involve 12 children’s groups that already filed applications to take part. More participants are invited to join in. It is the 21st event of the kind, which is aimed at promoting young talents.

The winners of the contest will receive diplomas, money awards and other prizes. The Top Prize is 1,200 lei. The winners of the first place will get 900 lei, of the second place – 750 lei, while of the third place – 650 lei. There will also be offered additional prizes of 450 lei each.
