The General Division of Education, Youth and Sport stages the 18th Municipal Contest-Festival of Winter Customs and Traditions for Children’s Groups “Live and Flourish”. It starts on December 8 and closes on December 21, IPN reports.

The festival is open to folkloric groups of children who promote the winter customs and traditions, including the Christmas carol, the Epiphany carol and the games with masks.

The first phase of the district contest will be staged by the children’s creation centers working in the districts of Chisinau until December 14. The winners of the first place (by a group in each age bracket) will compete in the final on December 20-21.

The organizational committee will select the groups that will take part in the Laureate Gala. Playback and electronic instruments are not allowed in the contest.
