Consumers’ debts endanger preparations for heating season

The Chisinau end-users who have debts for heat are asked to settle them. SA Termocom vice director Vasile Leu Monday said the payments represent 80.8%, but the percentage is by 11% lower compared with the corresponding period last year, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to Vasile Leu, the debts endanger the preparations for the new heating season. On the other hand, SA Termocom cannot pay the debts to its suppliers – 66.5 million lei to the thermoelectric plants CET 2 and CET 1. “The company owes no money to Union Fenosa and SA Chisinau-Gaz,” said the vice director. In this connection, Mayor General of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca said it is important that the payments made by the population come closer to the level of 100% so that the heat supplier is also able to honor its financial obligations to the suppliers. Vasile Leu said the housing stock in Chisinau is almost ready for the heating season. “Eleven heat pipes are being repaired, but the works will complete in a week. All the schools and kindergartens are ready for winter,” he stated. The heating season usually opens after the temperature is minimum eight degrees Celsius during three consecutive days.
