The water supplier notes the consumers can ask to sign direct contracts with the company. According to SA “Apă-Canal Chisinau”, 3,880 applications to sign direct contracts for the provision of the public water supply and sewage service were submitted last year, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the supplier.

The company said such contracts were signed with 2,358 apartment owners from 55 blocks of flats. All the received applications will be examined and, if the legal requirements are met, direct contracts will be signed with each applicant, based on the model of contract designed in accordance with the framework regulations for organizing and providing the public water supply and sewage service.

Under the law, in the apartment buildings where contracts for the provision of the public water supply and sewage service were signed with the block manager, the invoicing will be based on the approved tariffs and the volume of water measured by the common meter installed on the block’s water main.

If the public water supply and sewage service is provided based on contracts signed by the operator with each apartment owner/dweller separately, the invoicing will be based on the readings of the individual meters installed in apartments, according to the approved tariffs.
