Consumer Protection Agency inspects product storage conditions

The Agency for Consumer Protection initiated State inspections of businesses to check for the latter’s compliance with product storage regulation. The Agency inform that food poisonings usually occur in the summer, especially during hot weather, when the products spoil easily, and the expiration date has no meaning unless the product is stored properly, reports Info-Prim Neo. Subject to the inspection of product storage and placement are fast-food joints, bistros, pizza places, restaurants, and terraces. Additionally, booths, and mobile refrigerators for beverages and ice cream, will be inspected. The Agency for Consumer Protection advises citizens to be cautious when buying something, and inspect not only the expiration date of the product, but its physical state as well. The Chisinau Public Health Center has communicated 13 cases of acute gastroenteritis register between July 6 and 9, all of which are linked to the consumption of kebab from a locale on Decebal Street. All patients have the same symptoms: feebleness, tremors, nausea, repeated regurgitation, fever, diarrhea, and abdominal colic. Among those with such symptoms is a boy younger than 6 years of age. Nine individuals were hospitalized.
